Background of the Study
Financial accountability is a cornerstone of effective education financing. In Maradun Local Government Area (LGA), Zamfara State, the education sector faces challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, poor teacher quality, and limited access to educational resources. These issues often stem from financial mismanagement and lack of transparency. By ensuring financial accountability, the local government can improve fund allocation and utilization, thereby addressing key issues in the education sector. This study evaluates the extent to which financial accountability affects education financing and its outcomes in Maradun LGA.
Statement of the Problem
Despite considerable budget allocations to the education sector, Maradun LGA continues to struggle with poor educational outcomes. Mismanagement of funds and lack of accountability are significant contributors to these challenges.
